Virginia (Davis) Allen

Virginia Allen, 96, of Amarillo, died October 16, 2021. Graveside services will be held at Shamrock Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on October 19, 2021. Arrangements are by Lagrone Blackburn Shaw, 8310 S Coulter.

She was born in Shamrock, Texas on January 15, 1925 to Thomas Champ Davis and Laura Eva Loftis Davis.

She married her high school sweetheart, Charles Allen, on January 14, 1943. She was an avid and talented golfer who was Ladies Club Champion at the Canyon Country Club for many years. She was also a skilled bridge player. Most important was her love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all.

She is survived by her children, Vicky Allen Simmons and husband Hugh Simmons; Charlotte Allen Mooring and husband David Mooring; Jerry Paul Allen and wife Cathy Montosa Allen; Thomas Allen and Mary Allen; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Allen.
