Tara Higgs Spears

July 15, 1969 — March 15, 2019

Tara Higgs Spears, 49, of Amarillo, passed from this life on Friday, March 15, 2019. Family and friends will celebrate her life at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel. Arrangements are under the personal care of LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter Road.

Tara was born July 15, 1969 in Price, Utah to Thomas and Nancy Higgs. Tara was the proud mother of three boys, Chaz, Daventry and Sawyer Spears. Tara was a beautiful soul with an unending smile. She loved so deeply and gave all of herself to whoever needed help. She played many roles in her lifetime. Tara was an amazing daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandma, and friend loved by all.
As a daughter, Tara went above and beyond to take care of her mother. Whether that meant taking her on another spontaneous adventure, or something as simple as grocery shopping. Her most important role was always very obvious from the time she became a mother.
Selfless was a word most people would use when describing Tara. Her three boys ran her from one end of the country to the other. Whether she was driving her boys to a motocross race two states over, or taking them to their favorite fishing hole, she was a mom who always found a way to do it all. Her mothering extended far beyond her three boys. If anyone was important in her son’s lives, they instantly became family and had a spot at the dinner table. In recent years, Tara played a whole new role, yet familiar, and that was grandma to two beautiful granddaughters, Milly and Kynzlee. Her granddaughters lit up like never before when they were around her.
But to all she was a friend, someone to lean on, and a great positive example for others to follow. No matter who she was to you, she made a impact that will never be forgotten.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Chaz Spears (Ashlee Little), Daventry Spears, all of Amarillo and Sawyer Spears of Idaho Falls; her mother, Nancy Higgs; a brother, Charlie Higgs (Cherry) and a sister, Lisa Cone (Doug). She is also survived by two grandchildren, Milly Spears and Kynzlee Perky and is expecting her third grandchild in August; a niece, Cierra and a nephew, Cody Hobbs.
