Sylvia C. Wynia

Sylvia C. Wynia, 83, of Amarillo passed from this life on Sunday, August 5, 2018. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 10:00 am Thursday, August 9, 2018 in LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Chapel. Arrangements are under the personal care of LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter Road.

Sylvia was born on September 2, 1934 in Electra, Texas to Joe and Lorraine Mote. She worked as a secretary and later a contract specialist for the United States Bureau of Reclamation. She married Dwaine Wynia on March 6, 1980 in Amarillo. Sylvia and Dwaine enjoyed square dancing, playing bridge, traveling in their R. V. They lived 17 winters in Casa Grande, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Lorraine Mote, a sister, Jan Hibbs and three grandsons, Matthew Ewing, Justin Ray, and Paul Sifuentez.

She is survived by her husband, Dwaine Wynia; children, Larry Ewing and wife Becky, Gary Ewing, Terri Dawn Valdez, Judy Jackson and husband, Troy, Lori Sifuentez and husband, Richard, Steven Wynia and Cindi Wynia; a sister, Jodi Navarro and husband, Frank; 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
