Sherry Lynn McDonald

April 22, 1946 — October 27, 2019

Sherry Lynn McDonald, 73, of Amarillo passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2019. Memorial services will be at 1 pm, Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Metropolitan Community Church at 2123 S. Polk St.

Sherry was born on April 22, 1946 in Long Beach, CA to Homer and Dorothy McDonald. She graduated from Costa Mesa High School and then studied psychology at Walla Walla University. Sherry loved going camping, fishing and going to the beach. She loved going to fisherman's wharf in San Francisco. Sherry loved the sound of Motown music and was an avid 49er's fan. She was the domino queen and could tell you what bones were in your hand and what bone to play next! Sherry wrote poetry and had several poems published.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Cynthia Crutchfield, a brother, James Stamper; a grandson, Jerad Priz and her daughter in law, Roxanne Race.

She is survived by her two sons, Robert Race Jr. and Richard Race; six daughters, Sheila Rodriguez and husband Thomas, Dorothea Race and husband Chris Washington, Marian Priz and husband Jay, Amanda Winnett, Sherri Dickson and Jessica Verdugo; three sisters, Vicki Houk and husband Lee, Becky Reavis and husband Donnie and Toni Stiles and husband Michael; twenty one grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and numerous other family members.
