Patricio Martinez

Patricio Dorado Martinez, 80, of Amarillo passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2018. Rosary will be said at 6:00 pm, Friday, December 21 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel. Mass will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, December 22, 2018 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel.

Patricio was born on March 17, 1938 in Carlsbad, NM to Nasario and Guadalupe Martinez. On April 30, 1960, he married Guadalupe "Lupe" Hernandez in Carlsbad. He moved his family to Amarillo in 1976. He retired from Asarco after working as a mechanic for twenty four years. He owned and operated Patricio's Crafts and Things where he made beef jerky and picture frames. He was a VFW Lifetime Auxiliary member and volunteered in his community. He also loved watching his grandkids and great grandkids play sports. Grandpa G will be fondly remembered as a humble, hardworking, funny, caring, dedicated man that loved his family deeply.

The family greatly thanks his second family - Amarillo Wesley Community Center and all of his friends who cared for him daily the past couple of years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lupe, three brothers and one sister.

He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Martinez; a granddaughter, Danielle Diaz-Gonzales and husband Jesus; two grandsons, Dominic Diaz and wife Aline and Patrick Miranda and wife Alma; eleven great grandchildren, Faith, Mea, Anthony, Felecity, Jessie, Jaden, Jaxcen, Aubree, Channing, Giovanni and Jordyn, all of Amarillo and two brothers, Porfirio "Pilo" Martinez and Gaudalupe "Pache" Rubio of Carlsbad, NM.
