P.D. Walker was born October 5, 1912 in Midway, Texas to Gilbert (Red) and Minnie (Robinson)Walker. He attended school in Midway and moved from there in 1947; coming to reside in Amarillo, Texas. P.D. started working construction and soon after he went to work for Amarillo Independent School District as a custodian at Palo Duro High School where he worked until his retirement in the early 1980’s.

P.D. joined North Heights Church of Christ and was a faithful member, attending until his health failed. He loved hearing the word of the Lord, his Cowboy pictures on TV, fishing, hunting, spending time with his family and friends as well as dressing in the latest fashions.

He was preceded in death by both parents, Gilbert and Minnie; seven sisters, Ruby Mae, Lizzy, Ludie, Lockie Mae, Estella, Hazel and Mary Ethel, three brothers. Bud, Jim and Amos and his two sons, Ed and Clint Walker.

He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter, Toni Champion (Michael) of Denver, Colorado; seven grandchildren, eleven great grand children; one great great grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews and other family members.

P.D. lived a long full and humble life. When people would ask him the secret to living such a long life, his response would be – “Tend to your own business” in other words, “stay out of other folks’ business!”
