N. A. Weldon

N. A. Weldon, 96, of Amarillo, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021 in Amarillo.  He was born on June 10, 1925 in Shamrock to the late Newton Albert Weldon and Gertrude Wallace Weldon.  He married Mary Chambers in 1950.  She preceded him in death in 1986.  N. A. joined the U.S. Navy during WWII, serving on the USS Lexington CV-16.  He was an expert joke teller and puzzle maker and enjoyed gardening and woodworking.

He was a good father to his three sons, John, Bobby and Jackie.  All three followed in his footsteps by serving in the U.S. Navy.  He is survived by six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by four brothers, Albert, G W, Orvile and Wesley and two sisters, Mary Bell and Besey.

Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Bob Miller officiating.
