Michael Eugene Castleberry 50, of Amarillo died Wednesday November 27, 2019 in Amarillo surrounded by loved ones.
Services will be 2:00 PM Sunday Dec. 8, 2019 at The Old Red Bard, cremation arrangements are under the direction of LaGrone Blackburn-Shaw Funeral directors.
Michael was born in Amarillo on December, 12 1968 to Frank and Bessie Castleberry. He met his true love Patricia Smith on November 23, 1993 and lived with her for 26 years. Michael enjoyed John Wayne westerns and loved to travel. He was a truck driver for five years which allowed him to go to see many places. Michael also enjoyed painting and spent most his life working as a Journeyman Painter. His family remembers how he always lived life on the edge and that’s the way he liked it best. Michael loved his family and friends, especially being a grandfather to his grandchildren “Pops” they called him. Michael was loved my numerous nieces and nephews. He may be gone but will never be forgotten.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael Jr. Castleberry; and one granddaughter, Shaedara Sanchez.
Survivors include his significant other Patricia Smith of Amarillo; one daughter, Chelsea Williams and husband Tom of Washington State; two step-daughters Jennifer Sanchez and husband Joe and Kellie Ruiz, both of Amarillo; one step-son Marcus Ruiz and wife Victoria of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two sisters, Tina Jones and Norma Jean Graham, both of Amarillo; one brother, Frank Doyle Jr. Castleberry and wife Liz of Amarillo; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild; Survivors also include a host of nieces and nephews.
