Loyd Evert Morgan, 72, of Amarillo died on Wednesday, October 4, 2017. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Hillside Christian Church West Campus Chapel with Pastors Bob Attaway of Hillside Christian Church and Becky Davis of Interim Hospice officiating.

Loyd was born on September 7, 1945 in McLean to Charlie and Maudie Morgan. He attended McLean High School. He married the "love of his life" Kay Braxton on August 18, 1962 in Childress. Loyd went to work for SPS when he was 18 years old and worked there for thirty nine years. After retiring in 2003, he started his own business, Morgan Turbine Consultants, LLC. He quickly became the go to guy in the industry for solving problems with turbines, generators and any other rotating equipment. He traveled all over the United States, Puerto Rico, Curasau and Argentina with his company. In 2014, Loyd retired after a successful career and was a respected consultant in the power generator industry.

Loyd was always helping people and was always at their call and he would help anybody in any way that he could. He was a highly respected man and the king of the one liners. He enjoyed restoring classic cars and spending time with his family and grandchildren, but his real passion was his beloved bride, Kay.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Maudie Morgan; his in laws, A.B. and Ruth Braxton; a sister, Joyce Morgan; a brother-in-law, Donnie Braxton and a grandson, Terry Campbell.

He is survived by is wife, Kay; a daughter, Misty Campbell and husband Michael; two sons, Steve Morgan and wife Madelyn and Brent Morgan and wife Chanda; six grandchildren, Adam Campbell and wife Krystal, Sarah Campbell, Garrrett Morgan, William Morgan, Hannah Morgan, Landon Morgan and Makayla Morgan; three great grandchildren, Zachary Campbell, Jaxson Campbell and Hartlyn Campbell; three brothers, Preston Morgan and wife Julie, Skip Morgan and Dwayne Morgan and wife Terri; three sisters, Eva Rose Hawley and husband Fred, Francis Finn and husband Tom and Deloris Howell and husband Pat and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Brain Support Network, P.O. Box 7264, Menlo Park, CA or to Interim Hospice, 3501 S Soncy Rd #134, Amarillo, TX 79119.
