Loretta Green Durbin, 95, of Dalhart, died Saturday, April 25, 2015. Rosary will be said at 6:30 pm Thursday, April 30, 2015 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, May 1, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Hector Madrigal as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter.
Loretta was born June 7, 1919 in Concordia, KS to Claude and Josephine Green. She married Jerome Durbin on February 14, 1939 in Weslaco. Loretta was an Auxiliary Member of the Legion of Mary. She worked as a clerk for CR Anthonys. She was very active in PTA and a member of Catholic daughters. Loretta loved painting and other crafts, was always looking for a game of rummy or dominoes and she also loved her dogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jerome, thirteen siblings, two sons and one grandson.
Loretta is survived by three sons; Leo Durbin of Amarillo, TX, Paul Durbin of Nazareth, TX, and Harold Durbin of Dalhart, TX, a daughter; Mary Jo Jennen of Russellville, Ark, a brother; David Green and wife Marian of Mathis, TX, twenty eight grandchildren , and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
