Amarillo - Letta Ruth Day, 70, of Amarillo passed away Friday, March 5, 2021. Letta was born February 9, 1951 in Batesville, Arkansas to Bill Dee and Ruth Elma Goodson. Memorial service will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 12, 2021 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel. Letta graduated from Tascosa High School in 1969. She later graduated from WTAMU in 1991; completing a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. Letta was the founder and owner of Professional Counseling and Biofeedback Center from 1997 to the time of her passing. She spent 30 years working as a Licensed Professional Counselor. She was invested in serving her clients and building strong lasting relationships with her colleagues and other professionals. Some people have said that she was the hardest working counselor in Amarillo Texas. She simply wanted to help her family, friends and clients find something that would help them thrive. Letta was absolutely invested in everything she took on in life. She invested every bit of her energy into her family, children, grandchildren and her business. Her approach to having fun varied over the years from competitive shooting to camping and fishing. Her main interests throughout her life were cooking too much food (and then sending it home with you), shopping barely enough, spoiling her grandchildren and working constantly. Letta enjoyed telling stories about her simple beginnings and her family back in Arkansas. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James Day Jr. She is survived by her sons, Justin Day and wife Laney and Lukas Day and wife Lyndsey; her grandchildren, Emilie, Ethan, Elliott, Llewyn and Sophie; her siblings, Greg Goodson and wife Margret and Anga Corpus and husband Carlos, and of course many others that she loved dearly.
