Lomona R. White

Lomona R. White, 81, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 1, 2019. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Dr. Alberta Helton officating. Arrangements are under the personal care of LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter.

Lomona was born on January 6, 1937 in White Deer, Texas to Dee and Dolly Newton. She married Jimmy Ray Reece and together they raised their three children. Lomona worked as a bank teller at Amarillo National Bank for over 25 years. She later married Billy H. White. She lived on Lake Meredith where she enjoyed reading, going fishing and walking in the country. She loved her dogs, Max and Polly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dee and Dolly Newton, both husbands, Jim Reece and Billy White, a daughter, Kelley Sue Avant, and a brother, Ralph Newton.

Left to cherish her memory is her children, Russ Reece and wife Saundra, and Shelly Bruce and fiance, Mark Hamilton; four grandchildren, Jimmy Ray Avant, and wife Heather, Tanner Ray Reece, Channing Gayle Reece and Desirae Ellen Reece; three great grandchildren, Breanna Avant, Shania Rae Reece and Skylar Lindley Winsor; and two brothers, David Newton and wife, Virginia and Ken Newton, and wife, Nelda.
