Juan Victor Cantu

Juan Victor Cantu, 74, of Amarillo, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021.  He was born on December 23, 1946 in Reynosa, Mexico to the late Ernesto Cantu and Gabriela Garcia Cantu.  On June 26, 1966 he married Amelia Rangel in Hereford, Texas.  Mr. Cantu worked in Transportation Department with the City of Amarillo, was a car sales man, helped with immigration and worked as a Disk Jockey and Band Promoter for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Amelia Cantu of Amarillo; children, Elizabeth Cantu Sanchez of Canyon, Juan Victor Cantu, Jr. of Amarillo and Steve Cantu of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 6 sisters and 1 brother.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Cantu Miranda and 1 brother.

A vigil will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday, March 4, 2021 at LaGrone Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Home, 8310 S. Coulter Rd, in Amarillo.  Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday at the LaGrone Blackburn-Shaw Coulter Road Chapel with Jesse Guerrero officiating.  Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Cantu, Evaristo Duran, Rodney Willson, Victorio Gallegos, George Painter and Paul Duron.
