Josefa Cabello

Josefa Cabello, 86, of Amarillo passed from this life on Wednesday, May 9, 2018. Prayer services will be held at 6 pm Friday, May 11, 2108 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel with Baldomero Munoz and Joel Botello officiating. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Vida Church 2920 SW 5th Avenue with Rev. Joel Botello officiating. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery East. Arrangements are under the personal care of LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 1505 Martin Road.

Born May 28th of 1931 in Olton, TX to Juan and Paula Cortez De Los Santos where she lived
until she was 13 years old. Her parents then moved to Mexico where she stayed until 1971.
While in Mexico, she married Luis Cabello Sr. on January 10, 1950 in Vallehermoso, Tamaulipas, Mexico. She was a dressmaker and she loved nursing people back to health in their neighborhood. Together she and Luis had six children. She served faithfully in Church making food, including her specialty, tamales. She loved being a mother to all.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Luis Cabello Sr., her parents Juan and Paula Cortez
De Los Santos, a sister Elizabeth De Los Santos, and two brothers Benjamin and Juan De Los
Santos.

Those left to cherish her memories are three sons; Ezequiel Cabello and wife Maria De
Jesus, Guillermo Cabello and wife Simona, Luis Cabello Jr. and wife Augustina, all of Amarillo, TX; three daughters; Rosa Cabello of Monterey, Mexico, Esther and husband Mike Munoz, and Juana Ramirez and husband Carlos both of Amarillo, TX; her siblings are Velia Razo from San Antonio, TX, Rosa Trejo from Houston, TX, and Paula Vargas from Indiana; Carlos De Los Santos from Phoenix, AZ, Francisco De Los Santos from Lincoln, NB, Joaquin De Los Santos, Samuel De Los Santos, Jose De Los Santos all from Amarillo TX; 25 grandchildren 79 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren
