Jerry Lee Mayfield, 64, of Amarillo passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, August 15, 2019. Memorial services will be at 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Hillside Christian Church West Chapel with Pastor Mike Nuthman officiating.

Jerry Lee Mayfield was born on August 17, 1954 in Alva, OK to Paul and Velma Mayfield. He graduated from Alva High School where he was selected as an all-state baseball player and attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University on a baseball scholarship as a pitcher. After working in the oilfield and Baroid as a mudd engineer, he then transferred to West Texas State University where he received his degree in geology. Jerry married Kayle Clemence on June 30, 1979 in Amarillo and was a computer programmer for Corporate Systems, he then held several contract computer programming jobs. Jerry played the drums, loved to watch movies and watch OU football. He also loved his dogs and his cat, Mickey but he really loved spending time with his family and grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul; a brother, Douglas and a niece, Donita.

He is survived by his wife, Kayle; his daughter, Shea Morris and husband Boone; two grandsons, Greer Douglas Morris and Arlo Yul Morris; his mother, Velma; two brothers, Kenneth Mayfield and wife Connie and Phillip Mayfield and wife Donna; four nieces, Tisha and Michelle Mayfield, Misty Babic and husband Dario and their three children and Maddisun Fowler; nephew,  P.D. Mayfield and wife Kelly and their two children along with numerous other relatives.

The family would like to thank the staff at BSA Hospital and BSA Hospice Care of the Southwest for the care of Jerry.
