Jerry A. Jackson

Jerry Jackson, 68, died on January 14, 2023, in Amarillo, Texas.

Mr. Jackson was born on October 21, 1954, in Matador, Texas to Jim and Norma Jackson.

He attended Palo Duro High School and was a truck driver for the better part of 40 years. He retired in 2015 to be able to spend time traveling with his wife.   He enjoyed playing guitars, listening to country music, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.  He will always be loved and missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Johnny Jackson and a nephew Bobby Jackson.

Jerry is survived by his wife Irene; 5 children Jerry Jackson, Jr. of Canyon, TX; Rhonda Barker and husband Mike of San Antonio, TX; Tammy Lathrop of Waynesville, North Carolina; Krystal James and husband Jimmie of Amarillo; Anya Clayton and husband Tim of Tyler, TX; two sisters Jo Rodriguez and Gale Carlson of Amarillo, TX; two sisters-in-law Kathy Copeland and husband Brian of Lawton, OK and Cindy Evans of Raymondville, MO; 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mr. Jackson will be Wednesday, January 18, 2023, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Home Chapel, 1505 Martin Road, Amarillo, Texas. Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at 10:00 AM at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Home Chapel with Royce Mason of Great Plains Western Church and Pastor Jerry Davey officiating.  Serving as Pallbearers are Jerry Jackson, Jr., Jimmie James, Austin Jackson, Ben Barker, Dakota Jackson, and Eli Barker.  The interment will be at Llano East Cemetery.
