James Tilden Hetzel

March 20, 1956 — July 20, 2018

James Tilden Hetzel "Hetz" 62, of Stinnett TX went to be with our Lord and savior on July 20th 2018.

Hetz was born on March 21st 1956 in Sao Paulo Brazil to Durward and Mary Hetzel. He graduated high school from Hereford TX and attended West Texas State in Canyon TX where he was a member of the meat judging team.

Hetz moved to Stinnett Texas after college to manage part of the Turkey Track ranch for 12 years. During this time he made some of his fondest memories with his family. After the Turkey Track ranch Hetz worked at Agrium for 22 years.

Hetz was a very committed father and grandfather. He never missed one of his girls sporting events and cherished  every moment with his family. His 2 daughters and grandchildren were truly his pride and joy.

People that knew Hetz loved him and enjoyed time with him trading hunting stories, telling jokes, and laughing a lot. He was one of a kind and generous in many ways to those around him. People were impacted by his warmth and care and he will be missed and cherished my many.

Hetz is survived by; Kristin "Toot" van Reenen and husband Dirk of Friendswood TX, Jamie "Bird" Hetzel and fiance Trey of Stinnett TX. His 5 grandchildren; Mackenzie Cooper, Kalie Cooper, Jax van Reenen, Zaden Washer, and Kate van Reenen. His sister Terry Hetzel of Amarillo TX, and some very special hunting buddies.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in Stinnett TX Thursday July 26th at 5PM at the Personal home of Blake Charles. From west 6th street turn North on county road 6 at the Stinnett water tower. Follow signage. See map above.
