Gracie Lou Haddox, 90, of Amarillo passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2019. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Thursday, November 21, 2019 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 5:30 - 7:00 pm on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel.
Gracie was born on October 24, 1929 in Arnett, OK. to Ernest and Augusta Gee. She graduated from Arnett High School. Gracie worked for SIC Insurance for over thirty years. She married Harold Sain on August 6, 1949 at River Road Baptist Church and they were married for twenty nine years until Harold's passing in February 1978. Gracie then married W D Haddox in June 1979 at Grand Avenue Baptist Church and they were married for twenty two years until W D's passing in March of 2001. Gracie was a lifetime member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church, Amarillo Senior Citizens and she also received her twenty five year pin with Meals on Wheels. She was also a member of Rebecca's Lodge. Gracie was a songbird and loved to sing. She would break out in song anywhere. Gracie was a friend to everybody and a very loving lady. She loved bingo and penny slot machines and she loved to dance.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, and their two daughters, LaDonna King and Teena Marie Hill.
She is survived by her son, Harold Sain Jr; three daughters, Kathy Eubank, Anita Scholtz and husband David and Cindy Malena and husband Rick; fourteen grandchildren; thirty eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren on the way.
