Dr. Karen Gayle Holman

Dr. Karen G. Holman of Amarillo passed away April 13, 2022.  She was born to Oscar G. and Geneva McAnarney Holman on November 19, 1946.

Karen graduated from Tascosa High School in 1965 and and graduated from Texas Tech University.  She went on to graduate with a Doctorate Degree in medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston in 1973.

Karen did her Family Practice Residency at the University of Oklahoma.  She worked in St. Louis, MO, The University of Oklahoma and Texas Tech Medical School in Amarillo.  She worked at two different Homeless Clinics, one of which was near the F. Murray building during the Oklahoma City bombing April 19, 1995.  She and her staff treated several victims that day.

Karen had several hobbies, which included photography and visiting State Parks with her dogs.  Her passion was her dogs, Brandy, Blanco and Molly.

She is survived by her sister, Andrea C. Holman of Amarillo, survives her.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Monday, April 18, 2022 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter St. Amarillo, TX.
