Douglas (Grant) Lemons, 57, of Amarillo died Wednesdays, November 12, 2020 in Amarillo, Texas. Grant made Amarillo his home for some 39 years. A private grave side service is planned for 2:00 P.M. on November 16th at Citizens Cemetery of Clarendon.

Grant was born in Memphis Texas to Jerry and Maxine Lemons of Brice Texas. He grew up in Hall and Donley counties where He worked with his family in their farming operations.

Douglas (Grant) Lemons graduated from Clarendon High School in 1982. He graduated from Texas State Technical Institute of Amarillo receiving an Associate of Applied Science in Diesel Mechanics Technology degree in 1984. He worked for the City of Amarillo for over 25 years.

Grant enjoyed being at his home and spending time with his wife Carol and family. He was proud of his working for the city of Amarillo until his retirement. He received a number of recognitions for his work by the City of Amarillo. After his wife Carol passed he enjoyed caring for his dog Sister. Grant found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed watching wrestling’s Friday Night Smackdown, and football games.

Grant and his wife attended Family Life Fellowship Church of Amarillo.

Grant was preceded in death by his wife Carol Lynn Young. They were married on May 17 1995. Grant and Carol lived out their love for 18 years until Carol passed away January 17, 2013.

His mother Maxine (Archer) Lemons  (1973), and his father Jerry Bob Lemons (2013),

His nephew Justin John Nathaniel Lemons (2006).

Grant is survived by: his sister Sherry and husband Lee Weimer of Amarillo and their daughter Kay Weimer of Amarillo,

His brother Justin Lemons and wife Delilah of Amarillo and their daughter

Rachel and husband Leo Villalobos stationed in Chile and their children Lucas, Carolina, and Emilia,

His uncle Jimmy and wife Cecilia Lemons of Amarillo, his uncle Billy Archer of Amarillo and other uncles, aunts, cousins etc.

Matthew 11: 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

John 16: 33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
