Doris Jean Swain

Doris Jean Swain, 63, of Amarillo, passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021 in Amarillo.  She was born on August 22, 1957 in Amarillo to the late Mathis Swain and Katherine Morris Swain.  Ms. Swain had previously worked in administration for the Amarillo Police Department and had worked for ICE Federal Credit Union in Inglewood, CA for 22 years.  Doris loved to dance, go bowling and enjoyed traveling.

She is survived by two sisters, Ophelia Cumby and Ocie Thomas and two brothers, Johnny Howard and Ernest Morris, all of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Katreal Austin and Zachariah Birdow.  She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jarrica Austin.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 16, 2021 at the LaGrone Blackburn-Shaw Martin Road Chapel.  Burial will follow at Llano Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be James Adams, Williams Burks, Harold Thomas, Jr., Brandon Burks, Chaston Thomas and Johnny Howard.

The family has asked that everyone attending the services to please wear a mask.
