Charles Edward Triplett, 78, of Amarillo passed from this life on Thursday, February 7, 2019. Family and friends will gather together to celebrate his life at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 16, 2019 in LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road.

Charles was born on September 21, 1940 to Arvin and Nora Triplett in Mutual, Oklahoma on the family farm where he grew up before moving with his family to Claude, Texas. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. Charles met the love of his life, Sue Bruce, at the cafe where she worked. They married on September 5, 1965 in Canyon, Texas. He worked as a Chemical Operational Technician at Owens Corning until he retired in 1999. He spent his weekends farming the home place in Mutual, Oklahoma. Charles enjoyed prospecting for gold at Cripple Creek, when he was not panning for gold, he was looking for hidden treasures with his metal detector.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Don Triplett, and a sister in law, Georgia Triplett.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 53 years, Sue Triplett; two sons, Larry Triplett and wife, Kim, and Mike Triplett; seven grandchildren, Matt Triplett, Candace Triplett, Caleb Triplett, Kiera Triplett, Ransom Triplett, Shasta Triplett and Jayden Triplett; three great grandchildren, Bryce Triplett, Rae'Lynn Triplett, and Ayden Hodge, all of Amarillo; two brothers, Bill Triplett and wife Betty, of Canyon, Texas and Richard Triplett, of Mutual, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.
