ALICE M. WHELCHEL

Alice Mary Whelchel, 86, of Amarillo passed from this life on Sunday, January 6, 2019. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 2:00 pm Friday, January 11, 2019 in LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road.

Alice was born on October 13, 1932 in Santa Fe, New Mexico to Harlan and Mary (Nagel) Euler. She grew up in Santa Fe where she graduated from high school. She married Leon Bonner in April 1953 and she later married Jim Whelchel in Big Spring , Texas in 1981. Alice moved to Amarillo in 2006 where she worked as a waitress at the Back Porch Restaurant. She enjoyed going dancing and caring for her dogs. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harlan and Mary Euler, her husbands, Leon Bonner and Jim Whelchel and a brother Ray Euler.

Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Robert Bonner, Jeanette Williams and husband, Lonnie and Joe Bonner and wife, Elisha; a brother, Eugene Euler and wife, Dena; five grandchildren, Lonnie Williams, Jacquelynn Ozelie, Nyrie Burrell, Blake Bonner and Austin Bonner; and six great grandchildren.
