Sylvester was born on November 21, 1936 in Poland to Michael and Maria Pytlinski.  He immigrated to the United States when he was 16 after surviving a German Concentration Camp.  Syl worked for both Greyhound Bus Lines and Continental Trailways for over 43 years.
Survivors include a sister, Regina Robinson; a niece, Suzi Goad, who was like his daughter and her husband James; a nephew, Jim Stronkowski who was like a son; his great nephews, Jeremy Stronkowski and wife Kat and their daughter Harley and Daniel Cobb and wife Megan all of Amarillo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers and 1 sister.

The family suggest memorials to BSA Hospice of Amarillo.
