Suzanne Rivera Khashan

March 16, 1957 — June 1, 2024

Amarillo, Texas

The family of Suzanne Rivera Khashan is saddened to deliver news of her passing on June 1, 2024, at the age of 67. Suzanne was a kind-hearted, wonderful woman who brought joy to the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She was born on March 16, 1957, in Santa Rosa, New Mexico and preceded in death by her father, GranFe Rivera, and her mother, Zenaida (Cindi) Bridges.

Suzanne graduated from Caprock High School in 1975 and is survived by her husband, Albert Khashan, the love of her life whom she married on June 11, 1976. She was a devoted and loving wife for 47 years. Suzanne and Albert have three sons, Jeffery Clyburn and his wife Marsha; Alexi Khashan and his wife Tina; and Surgio Khashan. Also deeply saddened by her passing are her siblings Renee Rivera, GranFe Dean Rivera, Patrick Rivera, and John Lujan as well as her many nieces and nephews who she treasured.

Suzanne was a woman of many passions, one of which was spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cherished her grandchildren Braxton Khashan and his wife Annie, Maylee Khashan, Mason Khashan and his wife Viviana, and Kaylin Khashan. She loved taking them shopping and teaching them how to embroider. Suzanne also adored her great-grandchildren Sage, Riley, and Adaline.

Suzanne will always be remembered for the love and kindness she put out into the world. She loved reading her bible as well as studying Hebrew. She became an ordained minister in 2005 and married several couples and ministered to them about the blessing of marriage. Every year, Suzanne would pick angels from the Christmas tree in the mall and buy presents for underprivileged children in the community.

Suzanne doted on her two beloved dogs, Hershey, the Dachshund, and Hershey, the American Terrier. True to her wonderful sense of humor, she insisted on giving them the same name so when she called them both would come.

Suzanne was truly a beacon of kindness and love and will be dearly missed by all the family and friends who had the pleasure of knowing her.
