Somphong "Sam" Isra

Somphong Sam Isra, 71, of Amarillo, TX passed away on December 30, 2025 at his home surrounded by family.

Somphong was born to Huang and Pane Douangmanivong on December 30, 1954 in Vientiane, Laos. He graduated from Fangum and PTT. He married his wife, Bouavanh on November 29, 1984. They both immigrated to the United States in 1984 with family. He had many accomplishments in life. A few being supervisor at Levi’s to Quality Assurance at Bell Helicopter. He retired in 2016 from Bell Helicopter. From then, he enjoyed his retirement by spending time with family, traveling, and many outdoor activities. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be dearly missed.

Somphong is survived by his wife of 41 years, Bouavanh Isra. Daughters Catherine, Christine and Caroline Isra. Son-in-law Tung Hoang. Grandkids Ayden and Ayla Hoang. 2 sisters in Laos. Many sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Preceded in death are his parents, older sister, sister-in law, and brother-in-laws.
