Shirley Wheeler

Shirley Ann Pickard Wheeler, 79, of Amarillo, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020 in Amarillo.  She was born on February 27, 1941 in Guymon, OK to Oral Pickard and Clara Lening Gerstner.  Shirley graduated from Guymon High School and worked in the insurance field for many years. Her greatest joy was making memories with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Wheeler of Amarillo; sons, Dennis McPherson and wife Amy of Dumas, TX and Kenny McPherson and wife Jackie of Canadian, TX; daughter, Liz Hund and husband Charlie of Abilene, TX; step-daugther, Cathy Wheeler of San Pedro, CA; brothers, Larry Pickard and wife Myrna of Hooker, OK, Bob Pickard and wife Carla of Italy, TX, Steve Couch of Katy, TX and Terry Couch and wife Sherri of Springfield, LA; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her father, Oral Pickard and his wife Rachel Launa, her mother, Clara Lening Gerstner and great granddaughters, Kadence and Kambria Cox.

A graveside inurnment service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, January 2, 2021 at the Roberts County Cemetery, Miami, TX with Chris Fobbs officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of LaGrone Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors in Amarillo.
