Shelia Kay May

Shelia Kay May, 71, of Amarillo, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 in Amarillo.  She was born on August 20, 1950 in Muleshoe, Texas to the late Theron D. and Beatrice Vaughn.  On February 20, 1994 she married David May in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Shelia was a retired schoolteacher, teaching half of her career in Bushland and the other half at Crocket Middle School.  She was a member of Redeemer Christian Church and was an active member of the EAS Sorority, that does charity work for St. Jude Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, David May of Amarillo; one brother, Theron Delmar Vaughn, Jr. of Georgetown, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Monday, February 14, 2022 at Lazbuddie Cemetery, Lazbuddie, Texas with David Ritchie officiating.

A memorial service for Shelia will be held at a later date.
