Rosa Mae Riggs went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 22, 2025. Celebration of Life Services will be held on July 21, 11 am, at Washington Avenue Christian Church. A private burial will be held at an earlier date.
Rosa was born in Dell, Arkansas, on October 5, 1935 to Aaron and Audrey Cummings and moved to Panhandle when she was a junior in high school. She entered the workforce at age 43 and worked at Texas Panhandle Mental Health Authority as a payroll clerk for most of her 35 years there. She retired at 78 and commented that working with all of the young people in the agency kept her young. She enjoyed sewing, yardwork, delivering Meals on Wheels and attending her grandchildren’s activities. She was a faithful member of North Amarillo Christian Church, followed by Washington Avenue Christian Church for many years.
Rosa was preceded in death by her son Randel, daughter-in-law Rhonda, her parents and siblings, Helen Bentley, Anita Baker, and James Cummings. She is survived by daughter Debbie Tiffany, son-in-law Tom, grandchildren Brynn Rains (Travis) of Fort Worth, Randi Riggs of Amarillo, Logan Tiffany (Bailey) of Amarillo, Austin Tiffany (Abbie) of Worcester, England, and great-grandchildren, Anabelle Riggs, Finn and Nora Tiffany, and Beatrice and Otis Tiffany. Grandmother was dearly loved by her family and those who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank GoodLife Assisted Living and Memory Care for taking wonderful care of our mother and grandmother for the last year. The staff, including the amazing caregivers, and the ladies (residents at GoodLife) all became like family and were very special to her. Also, thank you to Enhabit Home Health and Hospice for their excellent care and compassion.
