Roger “Rocky” Tyler, 73, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025. A graveside service will be held at 10am, on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Rocky was born on November 8, 1951, to Clyde Tyler and Margaret Brannan in Canyon, Texas. He graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1970 and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from West Texas State University. He later attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth before returning to Amarillo to raise his family.
Over the years, Rocky held various jobs before discovering his true calling in landscaping. He went on to own and operate Lucky Lawn Service for 39 years, faithfully serving his community up until his passing.
Rocky had a zest for life and enjoyed spending his free time at horse races, fishing, and sharing laughter and memories with his friends and family.
Rocky was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jerri Tyler and his grandson, Ryan.
Survivors left to cherish his memory are his children, Bane Tyler and wife, Lynn, of Sheridan, Wyoming and Amanda Hagood and husband, Brian, of Canyon, Texas; his step-children, Justin Johnson and Joshua Johnson and wife, Stacy, of Amarillo, Texas; his eight grandchildren, Nathan, Lyndl, Dillon, Austin, Mollie, Reagan, Brody and Bo and his brother and sister.
