Robert “Bobby” Buentello Jr. embarked on his final journey from this world on November 21, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas.
He was born on August 13, 1959, in Salinas, California, to Carmen Zaragoza and Robert Buentello Sr.
Bobby grew up in Tulia, Texas, and learned the craft of car body repair from his father at a young age—a trade he carried with him throughout most of his life. After stepping away from the body shop a few years ago, he grew restless at home and took up Hot Shot driving, a job that let him travel across the United States, something he absolutely loved.
Bobby had a sense of humor you had to get used to, and he was one of the most hard-headed, stubborn people you could ever meet. A devoted NASCAR fan, he could always be found in his recliner every Sunday afternoon, faithfully watching the race without fail.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Rosie S. Buentello; his children April (Danny) Orosco, Robert Michael (Ezequiel) Buentello, Matthew (Nick) Buentello, and Nicole Buentello; his brothers Ricky Buentello and Paul (Sia) Buentello; his grandchildren Jacqulyn, Jimmy Jr., Angelo, Romeo, Jediah, Lorenzo, Za’nyla, Ma’leah. and his great-grandchildren Davian and Arianelly; also, by nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and many cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Buentello Sr and mother, Carmen Zaragoza.; his sister, Sylvia Cruz; and his niece, Annamarie Cruz.
