Richard Dale Breit

Richard Dale Breit, age 93, of Amarillo, Texas, crossed over on July 4, 2023 after a short battle with cancer. Richard was born on March 26, 1930, in Savannah, MO. A decorated war veteran, Richard joined the Navy in 1948, and served admirably during the Korean War. During that time, he married his wife, Wynona Lawrence in New Orleans, LA. In 1971, Richard retired from the Navy and worked for Motorola for 21 years.

Richard had a penchant for gadgets and a proclivity for new experiences. He loved to travel. He strove to have every interaction with a stranger be a positive one. Richard truly lived every day to the fullest.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Herman Robert Grant Breit and Alberta Mae Auteburn, brother, William Robert Breit, sisters, Marjorie Reynolds and Mary Harter.

Richard has three children, Steven Breit of St. Joseph, MO, Tanya Martinez and husband Lee Martinez of Amarillo, TX and Teresa Meyer and husband Ryan Meyer of Bossier City, LA and one step-daughter, Dee Freeman of Texarkana, TX.

Richard also has four grandsons, Layne LeBleu of Oregon, Evan LeBleu of Oregon, Alex Martinez in the U.S. Army, Zane Martinez in the U.S. Army and one step grand-daughter, Rachel Freeman of Texas.

Richard has two great-grandsons, Wyatt LeBleu and Luke LeBleu of Oregon. One step great-grandson, Kayson Hoffman of Texarkana, TX.
