Peggy Ann Nunez Morales

June 28, 1956 — June 3, 2025

Amarillo

Peggy Ann Nunez Morales, 68, of Amarillo, Texas, joyfully entered eternal rest on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Primera Iglesia Bautista, 1701 S Houston St, Amarillo, Texas 79102.

Peggy was born on June 26, 1956, in Big Spring, Texas, to Federico Nunez Sr. and Alicia Trevino. A proud graduate of Amarillo High School’s class of 1974, she continued her education at Amarillo College, training as a surgical technician. Peggy devoted over 20 years to BSA Hospital, later sharing her compassion and care as a teaching assistant at San Jacinto Christian Academy and as an interpreter for the city health department. Peggy married the love of her life, Danny Morales on August 21, 1976. They would go on to have three beautiful children.

Peggy lived her life with joy, warmth, and generosity. A passionate reader, she had a special love for romance novels, her cherished Woman’s World magazine, and the Bible that guided her faith. She delighted in cooking for loved ones—her famous hot sauce and legendary Saturday morning breakfasts brought everyone together and left lasting memories.

With a beautiful singing voice and a heart for worship, Peggy loved leading praise on Sunday mornings. She took great pride in her Jewish heritage and the values it instilled in her family. Above all, Peggy found her greatest joy in her role as a mother and grandmother. She hardly ever missed a sporting event, always cheering from the sidelines with pride and love. Traveling with her beloved husband Danny was one of her favorite pastimes—Galveston was a special place they returned to often.

Peggy found great joy in traveling with her beloved sisters in Christ from the Women at the Well ministry and was deeply blessed by attending the Women of Joy Conferences. She was a faithful servant who knew the gospel intimately and boldly proclaimed it, never ashamed of the good news of Jesus Christ.

Peggy would also often travel with her siblings that would produce endless memories and laughs. She would always come home with a new story to tell.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Carlos “Charlie” Nunez, and her nephew Julian Nunez.

She leaves behind a family full of love and admiration: her devoted husband, Danny Morales; her children, Daniel Morales and wife Angela, Jaime Sharp and husband Cory, Leticia Mayer and husband Tray; her bonus son, Elyjah Mendez; her siblings, Fred Nunez Jr., Priscilla Nunez, and Maria Garcia. She was the proud grandmother of Mykeala, Ava, CJ, Amayah, Yishai, Yosef, Meir, Elazar, Evan, Emerie, and Elecia, and the great-grandmother of sweet Saylor.

Peggy’s radiant spirit, loving heart, and faithful soul touched all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the lives she brightened and the family she so deeply loved.

In lieu of flowers, the family has established a memorial account at Amarillo National Bank.
