Nicolas Guerrero Jr., 76, of Amarillo, Texas, was born in Acuña, Mexico, and passed away on September 23, 2025.
Nicolas was the son of the late Nicolas Guerrero Sr. and Manuela Fuentes. He worked as a crane operator for more than 30 years at ASARCO, where he was a proud and active member of the United Steelworkers of America. After retiring, he and his wife opened Tacos Don Miguel, which they ran together for 25 years. At the restaurant, Nicolas enjoyed watching his family grow, sharing laughter with friends, and working side by side with the love of his life, Gloria.
A devoted Catholic, Nicolas lived a full life centered on faith, hard work, and family. He loved music, raising animals on his ranch, and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria O. Guerrero; his children, Maria Guerrero, Gloria Olivas, Miguel Guerrero, Michelle Garcia, and Nicolas Guerrero; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation and rosary will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at LaGrone-Blackburn Shaw Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at St. Laurence Catholic Church, followed by burial at Llano Cemetery.
Nicolas was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be remembered for his kindness, his music, his strong work ethic, and most of all, the love he had for his family. He will be dearly missed and forever cherished.
