We are heartbroken to share that Mounmang Sihaphonh, 80, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on January 3, 2026. Born in Vientiane, Laos, Mounmang served as a soldier in the Lao Army early in his life. After the Vietnam War, he and his family came to the United States as refugees, eventually settling in Amarillo, Texas, where he made his home.
He worked at Tyson Foods in Amarillo for over 25 years, faithfully providing for his family. In addition to his work, he served as a Deacon at First Lao Baptist Church and continued to serve at the Eastridge Mission Center until his passing.
Mounmang was married to his wife, Hieng, since 1968. He was a devoted father and a proud grandfather. Those who knew him knew him as a good friend; steady, caring, and always willing to help.
He was an artist at heart, creating collage artwork by assembling fragments of magazines into beautiful, complete pieces. He loved reading the Bible and enjoyed music, finding peace in both and filling his home with faith, sound, and warmth.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thongkap and Lasoy Sihaphonh, and his son, Leutthauy Sihaphonh.
He is survived by his wife, Hieng; his son, Alex Inkhamheng; his grandchildren, who brought him joy in his later years; as well as his siblings and many extended family members.
