Obituary

Mary Edna Hemme Frost, 99, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026. Memorial services will be at 10am, Saturday, August 8, 2026, at LaGrone Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors.

Mary was born on May 4, 1927, in Portales, New Mexico. She graduated from Meadow High School in Meadow, Texas, and soon afterward began a career in Lubbock, Texas doing office work, where she worked faithfully for many years until her retirement.

On December 7, 1946, Mary married the love of her life, Edgar Maurice Frost. Together they built a beautiful life and shared nearly 50 wonderful years of marriage before Edgar's passing.

Mary found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved reading, crafting, and spending time working on jigsaw puzzles on her iPad. She especially looked forward to gathering with friends for a good game of dominoes. Known for her feisty personality and wonderful sense of humor, Mary had a gift for making those around her smile and laugh. Her wit, warmth, and vibrant spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Above all else, Mary's greatest joy was her family. She cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and the love she had for them was the foundation of her life. She will be remembered for her unwavering love, her infectious laughter, and the countless memories she created with those she held dear.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edgar Maurice Frost; her daughter, Vicki Holcomb and all of her siblings, Johnnie Mae Renfro, George Hemme and Louise Scroggins.

Survivors left to cherish her memory are her children, Edwin Frost and wife, Emma and Jackie Abrams and husband, Jon; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
