Mary Ann was born on March 23, 1959, to Neal Lucero and Adella Martinez in Amarillo, Texas. She graduated from Caprock High School in 1979. In 1982, Mary Ann married the love of her life, Gerald Thomason. Together, they shared 43 wonderful years of marriage, filled with laughter, resilience, and countless memories. Their journey together took them from Amarillo to Tulsa and then back to Amarillo and Canyon before finally settling in New Mexico in 2010—a place they came to call home.

Mary Ann dedicated many years of her life working as an administrative assistant, known for her diligence, kindness, and unfailing work ethic. Outside of her professional life, she embraced a wide range of passions. She found joy in the outdoors—riding bikes, hiking, and camping—and she also had a love for shopping and cooking. A self-proclaimed health enthusiast, Mary Ann enjoyed discovering and preparing nutritious meals that were as delicious as they were wholesome. She greatly enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and spending precious moments of having her family all together.

Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. A devoted Christian, Mary Ann had a deep and abiding love for the Lord and was a cherished member of Sagebrush Church in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Neal Lucero, Ted Lucero and Robert Lucero and her grandson, Seth Thomason.

Survivors left to cherish Mary Ann’s memory are her husband, Gerald Thomason; her son, Joshua Thomason and fiancé, Gillian; her daughter, Brianna Kammeraad and husband, Richard; her brothers, Albert Lucero, Mark Lucero and Jim Lucero; her sisters, Margaret Angel and Gloria Rivera; her two grandchildren, Rey Kammeraad and Liam Kammeraad and numerous extended family members and friends who will miss her greatly.
