Marshall Dell Watson

Marshall Watson was born March 28, 1941 to Lucky Mitchell and Mildred Irene Watson at Nacona, Texas and passed away May 17, 2020, losing his long battle with AML (Leukemia). He spent most of his younger years in Wheeler, Texas, where he graduated high school. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Amarillo. He married his wife Colleen Spurrier on April 21, 1972. They were married 48 years. He was employed by Atlas Van Lines for 40 years as a contract owner/operator mover. He and his wife traveled many miles cross country. After retirement, they loved to go RV camping with their puppy kids. The favorite places to go were Garner State Park in the Texas hill country and Fun Valley in Colorado where they made so many friends. Marshall was also a huge sports fan and loved the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys. But most of all he loved the West Texas State Buffaloes and Lady Buffs, especially basketball. Annual family reunions were often attended by over 100 people. Marshall was such a loved member of the group and always in the center of the fun.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Cheryl McKinley, and four brothers, Doyce, Leon, Phillip and Ronnie Watson.

He is survived by his wife, Colleen, his daughters of the heart, Melanie Canter and husband Barry, Valerie Glover and husband Brian and Pamalee Causey. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Kyle Causey, Paige Bezilla, Casey Williams, Jared Canter, Lauren Glover, Jaclyn Canter and Nathan Glover, also nine great grandchildren. He is survived by sisters, JoAnn Lackey and husband Carroll, Donna Huggins and husband Clive, two sister-in-laws, Laura Watson and Alicia Watson; brothers, Gene Watson and wife Sheila, Carroll Watson and wife Karen, Ricky Watson and wife Sharon, and Dwight Watson and wife Becky and so many extended family and friends.
