Margaret “Louise” Hudson March 6, 1934 – November 2, 2025
Margaret “Louise” Hudson, 91, of Amarillo, Texas, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior, surrounded by her family on November 2, 2025.
Louise was born on March 6, 1934, in Whittenburg, Texas, to Harold E. and Mabel Thomas Rodgers. She grew up in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1952. After high school, she attended Amarillo College, where she met the love of her life, Bobby T. Hudson. Louise graduated from Amarillo College in 1954 with her Associate of Science degree and went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Education from West Texas State University in 1957.
Louise and Bobby were married on July 17, 1954, in Amarillo, and together they built a beautiful life centered around family, faith, and love. They were blessed with four sons—Robert, Rodger, Ronnie, and David—and, ten years later, welcomed their daughter, Amy. The Hudson family shared many adventures together, including road trips, camping, fishing, and spending summers at the lake.
Teaching was Louise’s lifelong passion. She spent more than 25 years nurturing young minds as a 1st and 2nd grade teacher at Oakdale Elementary. Her compassion, patience, and dedication left a lasting impact on countless students and families throughout her career.
After retirement, Louise and Bobby enjoyed traveling the country together in their RV. Louise also had a deep love for quilting, becoming an active member of quilting groups and creating beautiful quilts to mark special milestones in her family’s lives—treasures that will be cherished for generations.
In her later years, Louise continued to give selflessly, volunteering at the hospital, participating in Snack Pak 4 Kids, and making quilts for others in need. She was also a member of the Starz Choir and Celebration Singers. Her gentle spirit, servant’s heart, and steadfast faith in the Lord were evident to all who knew her.
Louise was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby T. Hudson; her parents, Harold and Mabel Rodgers; and her brothers, Thomas Eugene and John Alden Rodgers.
She is survived by her children: sons Robert and wife Kristy; Rodger and wife Leslea; Ronnie and wife Cheryl; David and wife Jimi; and her daughter, Amy Hudson, all of Amarillo. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Louise touched the hearts of everyone she met. Her love for the Lord, her devotion to her family, and her gentle, joyful spirit will be remembered and missed deeply by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Snack Pak 4 Kids at St. Stephen Church of Amarillo, TX in her memory.
