Lela Doris Wilkinson

Lela Doris Wilkinson, 87, of Quail, Texas, passed away in Amarillo, Texas on April 28, 2023.

Doris was born in Quail, Texas to Orbie and Velma Hartman on January 31, 1936.  She attended school in Quail, Texas.  She then married Billy Dean Wilkinson in 1950 in Quail, Texas. They moved to Amarillo, Texas in 1956.

Doris was an active member of Diversity Church. Doris loved her family dearly and always loved having everyone around. She enjoyed the warm weather, being in the sun, walking in the park and planting her garden.

Doris Wilkinson is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Dean Wilkinson, daughter, Elaine Wilkinson and son, Robbie Wilkinson.

Doris Wilkinson is survived by her daughter, Margie Oster and her husband Bobby Oster, son, Billy Duane Wilkinson, daughter, Candy Woods and her husband Pete Woods and son Chris Ray and his wife Kami Ray, all of Amarillo, Texas. Doris or Nanny as she was called had 6 grandchildren, Kiley Navarrete, Kenny Wilkinson, Kerri Wilkinson, Gage Ray, Gannon Ray and Georgia Ray. Doris had 8 great - grandchildren and 1 great - great Grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral 1505 Martin Road Amarillo, TX  79107 with Pastor Mark England of Diversity Church, officiating.   Burial will follow at Rowe Cemetery FM-1932 Hedley, Texas at 2:30 pm.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Wilkinson, Gage Ray, Gannon Ray and Kaden Navarrete
