Lawanda Zo Moore

Lawanda Zo Moran Moore was born to Carl and Velma Moran on October 31, 1933. As a young girl, she spent many hours skating in her parents’ portable skating rink.  She and Kenneth Moore were married on May 29, 1950 in Vernon, Texas.  They were married for 66 years prior to his death in 2016.  Four children were born to this union.

Lawanda was a true Proverbs 31 woman.  Her Lord and His will came first in her life.  She leaves a beautiful legacy of a Christian wife, mother, and grandmother for her family and all that knew her.  She taught many, both young and old, about the Lord and His love.  Kenneth had the blessing of her helping keep his home, raising their children in the ways of the Lord, and as he served as an elder and minister in the Lord’s church.

“Pink” MaMaw loved her 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. And would have loved the 3 on the way just as much.  Her family has wonderful memories of hiking, shopping, cooking, playing games, and just spending time together.  They have treasured mementos of her artistic talent in paintings and quilts.

All those that came to know Lawanda were amazed by her wonderful attitude and beautiful smile. She brightened the day and added joy everywhere she went.  Her smile and joy will be greatly missed by all.

Survivors include; daughter, Gwyn Hanes; son, Bobby Moore and wife Claudia; daughter, Kenna Zetzsche and husband Bobby; son, Bret and wife Lisa; 13 grandchildren, Denea, Kyle, Shae, Kade, Cason, Kendy, Tierney, Kara, Brittany, Lindy, Katy, Dylan, and Anthony; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 5:30 – 7:00 pm at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw 8310 S. Coulter St. Amarillo TX.

Funeral Service: Friday, April 21, 2023 at 10:00 am at San Jacinto Church of Christ 823 S. Mississippi St. Amarillo TX.
