Larry Dale Skidmore, 59, passed away January 24, 2026 in Amarillo, Texas surrounded by his family. He was born in Amarillo on August 23, 1966.
He worked for City of Amarillo Street Department for 23 years. Then, for the Texas Department of Transportation for 20 years, where he had many achievements and won many awards at the Tex Dot Truck Rodeos.
He married Debra on November 13, 2002. They have been together for 36 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching sports with his family and friends, especially the Cowboys, the Texas Rangers and the UT Longhorns. Larry enjoyed playing billiards, watching NASCAR, his favorite driver was Brad Keselowski, and drinking Miller Lite, lake trips and cook-outs with family and friends, but his favorite thing to do was watching his grandkids in their activities.
He was loved by many. Had an infectious smile and gave the best hugs. With his kind heart, he never met a stranger. If he wasn't giving you a hard time, just wait, it was coming.
