Ke Radavong

Ke Radavong, 108 years old, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services are scheduled for 12pm, Saturday, January 31, 2026, at LaGrone Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Home, Martin Road chapel. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 12-7pm on Friday, January 30, 2026, at LaGrone Blackburn-Shaw Coulter Road chapel.

Ke was born on March 10, 1917, in Laos. He spent many years as a devoted coffee farmer, a life of hard work that reflected his patience, perseverance, and deep connection to the land. Ke had a natural gift for gardening and took great joy in growing anything he could, especially cucumbers and flowers. He also valued staying active and enjoyed exercising throughout his life.

Ke was known for his warm spirit and wonderful sense of humor. He loved telling jokes and had a special talent for making others laugh. Gentle and even-tempered, he was endlessly patient and never known to lose his temper. Ke faithfully attended Sunday school at the Buddhist temple, where he could often be found sharing laughter and jokes with the monks he so dearly enjoyed.

Above all else, Ke deeply loved his family, especially his many grandchildren. He delighted in spoiling them, often giving them money for ice cream, and was always selfless and generous in his love and care. Ke will be lovingly remembered for his kindness, friendliness, patience, and the unconditional love he freely gave to everyone he encountered.

Ke was preceded in death by his parents; his wife and his sister, Ieng.

Survivors left to cherish his memory are his son, Alex Radavong and wife, Dang Souvannakhily; his daughters, Amy Xaymongkhoune and husband, Lonnie; Pat Phetluangsy and husband, Savay and Maurine “Thai” Phommachanh and husband, Sangkeo; his sisters, Nang and Lai, of Pakse, Laos; his 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchildren.
