Jesse Charles Rivers, Jr.

Jesse Charles (Chuck) Rivers, Jr. 67, died Friday, April 28, 2023, in Amarillo, TX.  No services are scheduled at this time.

Jesse was born in Matador, TX., on May 16, 1955, to Patricia Jean Barefield and Jesse Charles Rivers, Sr.  He attended Caprock High School and eventually earned his GED in the military.  He was a decorated Marine earning two Purple Hearts in the 14 years of his service.

Jesse loved to work with his hands, mainly rebuilding lawnmowers.  He liked doing anything mechanical.  In his spare time, he loved to go fishing, hunting, and camping.  His family recalls many funny stories involving animals while camping.

Jesse was preceded in death by his parents and the mother of his two boys, Jamie Ellen Welch, and a brother, Rickie Lynn Rivers.

He is survived by his two sons, James Allen (Anastasia) Rivers and Joseph Phillip (Cheyenne) Rivers, Sr. and four grandchildren, Iyces, Xander, Joseph Phillips, Jr. and Elena.
