A time for the family to receive friends will be Tuesday, October 8, 2013
from 5:00-7:00 pm at LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Coulter Road Chapel.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Coulter Road Chapel with G.A. Roach officiating. Burial will be at the Groom Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors.
Jerry was born on March 4, 2013 in Groom, Texas to William Edward Carney and Loretta Britten. Jerry was born and raised in Groom, Texas and moved to Amarillo in the 1950’s. He owned and operated Panhandle Vending until he sold the company in 1984. After selling his company, Jerry started selling cars at different locations throughout Amarillo. Jerry knew everybody in town and really enjoyed fishing and camping in Cimarron Canyon in Northern New Mexico. He enjoyed country and western dancing on Sunday nights with the singles group. Jerry was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed watching football.
Preceded in death by his grandson, Joey Roberts.
Survivors include four daughters; Mona Roberts and husband Everett of Amarillo, Diana Wieck and husband Arnie of Dawn, Texas, Brenda Budd and husband Cliff of Amarillo and Margie Carney of Amarillo; two sons; Jerry Carney Jr. and wife Lynn Carney of Bul Verde, Texas and Billy Carney and wife Regina of Comanche, Oklahoma. He is also survived by Fourteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
