Jeffrey Gene Heath

September 29, 1974 — January 9, 2023

Jeffrey Gene Heath, 48, of Amarillo died Tuesday, January 9, 2023, in Amarillo.

A service in remembrance of the love he shared here on Earth is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Lagrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors at 8310 S. Coulter. Arrangements are by Lagrone-Blackburn-Shaw.

Jeff was born September 29, 1974, in Amarillo. He attended Amarillo High School and worked primarily in sales and distribution of auto parts. He had a pure heart, overflowing with love for every living creature God placed in his life. Except for fish. He caught, cooked, and ate as many of those as his 48 years allowed.

Jeff was generous with all he possessed, materially, emotionally, and spiritually. He never made an enemy. He was a devoted father, son, grandson, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan, a passion he inherited from his grandfather Junior Leon Heath and his father Homer Gene Heath, and shared with his sons. His passion for fishing was ignited by annual fishing trips to the Pagosa Springs area of Colorado when he was growing up. He was a talented and creative fisherman, who found peace on the water. He was also a patient and loving caregiver to his beloved grandmother Pauline Frances Heath – a responsibility he welcomed and managed exceptionally and which had an unmeasurably positive impact on his entire family.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Junior Leon Heath and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bergstresser. And, of course, by the thousands of fish, he pulled from the water.

He is survived by two sons, Taybour Leon Heath and wife Stephanie, Tristan Jason Stanhope and wife Riley, his father Homer Gene Heath and wife Connie, his mother Paulette Bergstresser Jones, his sister Melanie Barrientez and husband James, his grandson Leon Louis Heath and a host of family and friends.
