James "Jim" Earl Hamilton, 76, of Amarillo passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2019. Graveside services will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Jerry Horsley officiating.
Jim was born on August 30, 1943 in Massena, NY to C. Earl and Jeannine Hamilton. Jim proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Air Force. He married Valerie Smith on October 9, 1987 in Amarillo. After retiring from the Air Force, Jim worked for the United States Postal Service and then went to work in private security. He was avid Cleveland Indians fan and loved college basketball and football.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gary Hamilton.
He is survived by his wife, Valerie; a daughter, Myra A.J. Robison and husband Richard; three sons, James E. Hamilton Jr., Peter S. Hamilton and C.W. Hamilton; four grandchildren, Matthew, Zykiah, Alizah and Tristan and many nieces and nephews.
