James Franklin Furr Jr.

James Franklin Furr, Jr., (68) passed away on February 6, 2024, in Amarillo, Texas.  He was born on February 8, 1955, in Oakland, California, to James Franklin Furr and Shirley Restuch. He went on a blind date on his birthday and eventually ended up marrying Anastasia Kellar on August 14, 2018, in Amarillo, Texas.

James was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Darleen and Shirley, and three brothers: Richard, Donald, and Bobby.

He is survived by his wife Anastasia and three daughters: Dana, Shantell, and Shannon, one brother Doug, one sister Jeannette, and seven grandsons.

Mr. Furr attended school in California and became a Jack of all Trades and could build or fix anything.  He loved riding Harleys and was a die-hard San Francisco 49’ers and Oakland A’s fan.  He also loved NASCAR racing in his younger years and then loved attending races when he could no longer participate.  He also loved classic cars and fishing. James was funny, kind, and soft-spoken.  Children and animals loved him, and he will be greatly missed by all.
