Jackie Wayne Lowery, 90, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025.
Jackie was born on June 9, 1935, to J.C. Lowery and Stella Anderson in Mound, Texas. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1953 and soon after enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving two years during the Korean War. Following his service, Jackie built a long career as a sales representative with Diamond Shamrock.
A true country boy at heart, Jackie loved the outdoors and found joy in camping, fishing, and hunting. Some of his children’s fondest memories are of their family camping trips to the mountains of Colorado and Utah. In his later years, Jackie grew a love for golfing and was very good at it. He was also a fan of the Texas Rangers. Known for his humor and easygoing nature, Jackie had a gift for making friends wherever he went—always ready with a story, a laugh, or a conversation.
Jackie was preceded in death by his parents and his three brothers, Lynn Lowery, William "Sonny" Lowery and Robert Lowery.
Survivors left to cherish Jackie’s memory are his children, Steven “Rocky” Lowery, Andy Lowery and Kelly Gonyea and husband, Greg; his brother, Davis Lowery and wife, Glenda; his grandchildren, Candra Roshell Lowery, Richard Paul Lowery and wife, Sierra and Zachary Gonyea; his great-grandchildren, Braelyn Rain Mason, Madilyn Jane Lowery and Richard Wayne Lowery.
