Helen Margene Kangas, 93, of Amarillo, passed away at her residence, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 7:30 a.m. Helen was born May 1, 1932, in Idabel, Oklahoma, to Frank and Laura Scoggins. She grew up in Achille, Oklahoma.

In high school, she loved to play basketball and won many contests at the spelling bee. She was a great cook and loved Country Western music, as well as watching her favorite shows, such as Gunsmoke, The Rifleman, and Matt Dillon. Her favorite vacation was going to Branson, Missouri. Above all, she was a loving and

devoted Mother and friend who will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Scoggins, and her Mother Luara Hargis, three brothers, Luther Wayne Scoggins, Leonard Ray Scoggins, and Cyrus James Scoggins, 1st Husband - James Calvin Richardson, 2nd Husband - Roger Kangas, Long time partner - Red Easton, and her sons, Gary Mack Richardson, Ricky Richardson, Terry Richardson, and Daughters, Jeannie Richardson, and Reida Johnson, and four Grand Children, JD, Jimmy Dale, James Buce, and Brandy Cambell.

Survivors include two Sons, Dale Richardson of Amarillo, TX, and Dennis Richardson, Spouse- Teresa Richardson of Carrollton, TX, 14 Grandchildren, Brandon Richardson, Rita Kirkland -Spouse- Mike Kirkland, Crystal Adkins - Spouse- James Adkins,

Drew Johnson - Spouse - Angela Johnson, Jennifer Johnson, Jackie Johnson, Johnna Johnson, Kaley Beasley, Levi Richardson, Monica Vargas, Tara Richardson, Steven Richardson, Amy Richardson, Rikki Nicole Richardson, 23 Great Grandchildren, and 12 Great-Great Grandchildren.
